Lampion Center is pleased to work in partnership with Children’s Home Society and Family Services (CHSFS), an organization located in St. Paul, MN. We work to prepare families to face the special issues related to adoption in general, and additionally those issues specific to adopting a child from overseas.
Family preparation takes place throughout the legally required home study process. Once the home study is complete, it is sent to CHSFS for approval for their program.
The CHSFS coordinators keep in close contact with Lampion Center staff as well as with in-country representatives, and guide you through the process for the country you have chosen. At times, availability of adoption through certain countries, and program fees may change. For an up-to-date listing of country programs and fees, please go to www.childrenshomeadopt.org and click on “International Adoption,” then “Programs at a Glance.”
Once a child is placed in the family’s home, Lampion Center is available to help the family work through any necessary adjustments, provide resources that will be helpful as they encounter unexpected issues, and provide the post-placement supervision required by the country of adoption and, if necessary, the local court to finalize the adoption.
Our partnership with CHSFS allows families like yours the opportunity to have the comfort and convenience of working directly with local staff to complete necessary pre- and post- adoption services.
