ADOPTION SERVICES
Lampion Center provides a wide range of DOMESTIC, INTERNATIONAL, and STEP- OR GRANDPARENT ADOPTION services including:
- Inquiry Information & Consultation
- Family Preparation
- Home Study
- Post Placement Supervision
- Counseling for Parents & Children
Family preparation includes education on topics such as grief and loss, transracial/transcultural issues in adoption, adoption openness, and issues related to the life cycles of the adoptive family. This is based on the understanding that children will thrive if their parents are aware and prepared for the unique relationships formed through adoption and the developmental stages their children will go through.
Home studies are completed in order to assess adoptive parent readiness and/or eligibility to adopt.
Post Placement Supervision helps families with the period of adjustment that follows an adoptive placement. Lampion Center supports families and offers resources throughout the post-placement period.
Counseling services are available for adoptive families and children throughout their lives. Our adoption specialists understand issues that may come up throughout phases of life and are available as a resource at any time. Counseling services are available to anyone in the community, whether or not the adoption was processed through Lampion Center.
For additional information, please call and ask to speak with one of our adoption specialists at 471-1776.
