Holiday Management Foundation - A Gift from the heart!
Lampion Center recently received a gift from the heart. Holiday Management Foundation recently awarded Lampion Center $75,000 to provide crisis counseling and trauma therapy to victims of sexual assault. Lampion Center is collaborating with Holly’s House for the last year giving life saving trauma therapy to the children and women who come through their center. Currently, Lampion Center has over 50 children under the age of 18 in therapy for child sexual abuse. Many of these children are under the age of five. We cannot thank Holiday Management Foundation, Sharon, Larry, Leah and Derek Dunnigan for their passion to reach out with such generosity to our community!
Charitable Gifts
Charitable gifts are among the most important and fulfiling ways you can help make a difference in the future of a child, individual or family. Without good friends and volunteers such as you, Lampion Center could not exisit. For more than a century, caring individuals, neighbors, business people, foundations, corporations, civic clubs, religious groups, government agencies and other organizations have rallied to the cause of helping people in crisis.
Here are a few opportotunities for charitable giving and gift planning that can help make a difference in the lives of many.
-
Cash
Cash gifts are the most common gifts. Your gift before December 31 of each year means you could pay less at tax time. Call for additional information about specific programs such as annual support and commemorative giving. -
Securities
Stocks, bonds, money market funds, etc. are some of the most advantageous ways of giving. If you give appreciated stock you have owned for more than a year, you may deduct the full market value as a charitable contribution. -
Real Estate
You may deduct the full fair-market value as a charitable contribution, provided you have owned the property for more than a year. -
Insurance
When you make Lampion Center the owner and beneficiary of your paid-up life insurance policy, your charitable contribution is generally the replacement value or cost basis of the policy, whichever is less. Premiums paid on a gifted life insurance policy also qualify for a charitable deduction. -
Personal Property
Gifts related to the mission of Lampion Center are fully tax deductible at fair-market value. Gifts which are not related to the agency's tax exempt purpose are limited to the cost basis for determining your deduction. -
Charitable Trust
The charitable trust can offer tax savings while providing an annual income to you or your family. The charitable trust is funded with an asset, such as appreciated property or securities, which may be sold by the trust and the proceeds reinvested to produce greater yield for you. -
Charitable Gift Annuity
The charitable gift annuity is a combination gift and investment. In exchange for a transfer of cash or marketable securities, Lampion Center will contractually guarantee a lifetime payment of a specific annuity amount to the donor and/or a beneficiary. -
Estate Planning
You can leave a legacy for the families of Evansville by simply making Lampion Center a beneficiary in your will. You may consider leaving your assets in trust, assigning the income to one or two beneficiaries and the trust principal to Lampion Center. -
Other Forms of Giving
There are a variety of plans which can bring immediate benefits to you while greatly helping support Lampion Center and your community. These include family business gifts and commemorative or memorial gifts.
