A Broader Look at Prevention

Lampion Center believes that awareness and information produce prevention and reduce the need for further intervention. We combine expert and compassionate services in a group environment which offer the keys to emotional health and well-being for children, adults, and families. We offer many group education opportunities to provide early support and assistance in the life of a family in transition or need.

Support for Parents

A variety of parenting support options are offered weekly. These programs strengthen the parent’s ability to work through stressful and emotionally charged situations. Please call to learn about the current offerings (812.471.1776).

Adoption Services

A family that is looking to adopt often needs home studies, counseling to help their other children adjust to the new child/children being adopted, or assistance in step-parent/foster parent adoption.

Lampion Center is able to offer these supportive services to families looking to adopt in our community.

Seminar for Divorcing Parents

Parents who are experiencing divorce are offered this four-hour class, which is presented twice each month. Parents learn how to help their children cope with the changes that divorce brings, how to co-parent in highly stressful situations, and learn about additional community resources that can be of benefit. This class is offered in two formats: a morning session (4 hours), or two evening sessions (2 hours each). Pre-registration is required. Please call to register (812.471.1776).

“Stewards of Children”

“Stewards of Children” is the only evidence-informed child sexual abuse training program available nationally. Lampion Center is the sole local provider of this training. We have trained thousands of parents, teachers, volunteers and community members in how to prevent, report, and detect child sexual abuse. This training is excellent for any individual, group, church, and/or youth-serving organization. Many of our partner agencies make this training mandatory for their employees and volunteers, and more and more local businesses are offering this training for their employees. Let’s work together to get our entire community trained in how to prevent child sexual abuse!

To register for a general training session or to schedule training for your group, church, organization, or place of business, please call 812.471.1776 and ask to speak with Emily or Jennifer.
